Street-Level Medicare Commissions Explained
Street-level is the base commission an individual writing agent earns per enrollment — the CMS-set maximum for that product and state. For Medicare Advantage and Part D, CMS caps this and it's the same across carriers.
2026 MA street-level rates
| State group | Initial | Renewal |
|---|---|---|
| Most states (FL, TX, GA, NC, SC, TN, OH, and all not listed below) | $694 | $347 |
| California, New Jersey | $864 | $432 |
| Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Washington DC | $781 | $391 |
| Puerto Rico | $474 | $237 |
Why it matters to you
Street-level is what lands in your pocket per enrollment. When comparing where to hang your license, ask: am I getting full street-level? If an agency pays below street-level on MA, you're leaving guaranteed money on the table.
What street-level is NOT
It's the producing agent's base. There are additional layers in the industry for people who build and manage teams, but those are a separate topic and not part of your street-level check. This guide and our calculator deal only in street-level.
